This Privacy Policy explains how Mike Pasek (“I,” “me,” or “my”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
I am based in British Columbia, Canada, and provide hypnotherapy sessions and related services to clients worldwide.
Your trust and confidentiality are deeply valued, and this policy outlines how your information is handled with care and in compliance with applicable privacy laws.
1. Information Collected
I collect only the information needed to provide professional hypnotherapy services and maintain communication with clients.
This may include:
First and last name
Email address
Phone number
Intake and consent form responses
Session notes
Payment information (processed securely through Stripe; I do not store card details)
Audio recordings of sessions (if agreed to in advance)
All information is collected directly from you through secure online forms, scheduling systems, or during our sessions.
2. How Your Information Is Used
Your personal information is used to:
Schedule and conduct hypnotherapy sessions
Communicate with you regarding appointments or follow-ups
Process payments and maintain basic business records
Keep confidential session notes for continuity of care
Maintain compliance with ethical and legal obligations
Your information is never sold or shared for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage and Protection
Your information is collected and stored through secure, reputable services that meet Canadian and international privacy standards. These platforms are carefully chosen to maintain confidentiality and protect your data from unauthorized access or misuse.
I use the following systems to handle client information safely:
Squarespace & Acuity Scheduling – for website hosting, booking, and form submissions. Both are compliant with Canadian PIPEDA and European GDPR standards.
Stripe – for processing payments. Stripe is PCI DSS and GDPR compliant, and I do not have access to your full card information.
Zoom – for conducting online sessions. Meetings are encrypted and can be password-protected for added privacy.
Sync.com – for securely storing client records, intake forms, and audio recordings. Sync.com is a Canadian-based encrypted cloud platform, fully compliant with BC’s PIPA and federal PIPEDA regulations.
Gmail – for email correspondence. My account is secured with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
All reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are in place to keep your information secure. Access to client data is limited solely to me, and your information is never sold, shared, or disclosed outside of the specific purposes outlined in this policy.
4. Confidentiality and Limits
Everything shared during our sessions is treated as strictly confidential.
Information will only be disclosed if:
Required by law or court order
There is a clear and imminent risk of harm to yourself or others
You provide written consent to share specific information
Outside of these rare circumstances, your privacy is fully respected and protected.
5. Data Retention
Session notes, intake forms, and audio recordings are securely retained for up to three (3) years following your last session, or until you request their deletion—whichever comes first.
After that period, records are permanently deleted or securely destroyed.
6. International Clients and GDPR Rights
If you are located outside Canada—including the European Union or United Kingdom—your personal information is handled in accordance with GDPR principles.
You have the right to:
Access your personal information
Request correction of inaccuracies
Request deletion (“right to be forgotten”)
Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

7. Third-Party Services
Certain services used in my practice (such as Acuity Scheduling, Stripe, or Zoom) are operated by third parties.
These platforms have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your information.
I encourage you to review their policies if you wish to learn more about how your data is managed within those systems.
8. Your Rights Under Canadian Law
As a client residing in or interacting with a business in British Columbia, you are protected under PIPA (BC) and PIPEDA (Canada).
You have the right to:
Know what personal information is collected and why
Request access to your personal information
Request corrections or deletions
Withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions

9. Non-Medical Disclaimer
Hypnotherapy is a complementary, wellness-focused service, not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment.
I do not diagnose or treat medical conditions.

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in services, tools, or legal requirements.
The “Last Updated” date above will always indicate the most recent revision.
